Custom Design Services
We have been building and helping others build digitally controlled electronic devices since 1973.
Our list of sample projects may help qualify us.

Using our components, we can:

  • Design and build systems to your specifications.

  • Help you design and build your project.
  • In 1987 Hampton Technologies was formed to develop Hardware and Software for automated instrumentation systems (incorporated in Colorado 2001).

    • Specializing in Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition systems needing many inputs, outputs and locations.

    • Considerable experience integrating multiple instruments and control devices into networks supervised from remote locations.

    • Software and hardware providing high fidelity temporal correlation and coordination.

    • System modules supporting: data acquisition, command & control, data analysis, data storage, data and analysis display, system and component status, flexible error and event logging and alarms, multiple independent instrument instrument systems using shared network infrastructure, remote control, etc.

    • Supervisory points supported using standard and hardened Lap-Top, Palm-Held or Desk-Top computers -- Linux, MAC OS-X, and some other operating systems.

    • Remote device clusters supported using our Cluster Controllers running our real-time, multi-tasking operating system (HT-DOS). HT-DOS has the special time coordination features needed for instrument networks.

    • Custom systems are built using our robust high performance COTS hardware and software components augmented with custom hardware and/or software. Examples: 16 bit A-to-D, Nyquist sampling, controllers with precise time control, GPS derived location and time hardware and software. (Components Page)

    • Network linking technologies include...
      • Radio: microwave, HF, VHF, UHF, spread-spectrum, 803.11x
      • Serial: RS-232, RS-422, RS-485
      • Internet: TCP-IP, UDP-IP
      • Ethernet: MAC addressing - routed, broadcast, promiscuous
      • FiberOptic: Ethernet protocol, RS-232 type protocol

    • We use open architecture distributed interprocess and networking protocols

    (D-S-N.org)

    • We manage projects using proven sub-contractors and vendors.

    • We can provide General Contractor's services on projects up to about $500,000 and sub-contract on larger projects.
